The motives for starting a healthy lifestyle can be extremely different. Some people do it to keep up with the times. Others, in turn, want better health and wellbeing. Another reason may be the desire to control reality, and this in turn is often associated with eating disorders or low self-esteem. In each of these motives there is a need to make an independent decision and to be consistent in action. Not everyone weighs the same and with the same attitude. Why do some people manage to keep their weight right and others don't?
The right attitude towards weight loss as a prerequisite for success
According to psychologists, a decision taken on impulse can sometimes affect the whole future life. However, it is not always a properly interpreted impulse, and the person manages to persevere in the decision. It may turn out that the properties of the body of a person, such as problems with the hormonal system, make it impossible to lose weight effectively, and thus, discourage to further fight for the dream figure or better well-being. If our slimming does not work, we should first go to the doctor after referral to a doctor for studies that exclude certain diseases, such as diabetes, thyroid problems or insulin resistance, and then consider our motives for lifestyle changes. Perhaps they are aimed at meeting the needs and expectations of others, and not at our real needs.
Diet and the psyche - eating disorders
Often for inappropriate motives to lose weight there are problems with nutrition, which are extremely difficult to get rid of. They are associated with psychosomatic disorders. Seeing oneself through the prism of an unrivalled pattern from the catwalks or wanting to quickly increase muscle mass, often at the expense of one's own health, one can hear internal criticism, which will continue to suggest more and more destructive ideas for fat reduction. This is usually a matter of torture exercises and draconian diets that have little to do with healthy eating and a balanced diet. At this point it is worth asking yourself - how far are you able to go to get your dream figure?
Diet begins in the head.
The correct approach to diet and weight loss should be based on the aforementioned internal motivation. If you focus on losing weight with respect for your health and your body, and in particular on improving your well-being, you shouldn't have a problem with your eating habits or physical activity. But be good to yourself and don't let your dream figure and calorie counting become your goal in itself, even at the expense of your own health. A golden mean is also needed in this case.
Diet and weight loss are external factors of internal change, which implies an improvement in the quality of life. Better condition and health are the results of personality changes in a person who decided to start living better and invest his or her time and strength in himself or herself. With this approach everything should go your way, and weight control should come easily to you.
